This is a Rhodochrosite specimen from the Uchucchacua Mine in the Oyon Prov, Lima Dept, Peru. Rhodochrosite usually forms botryoidally, so the crystal structure of it is always more rare. Peru is known for it's deep red-hued specimens as well. This piece has good color for that region and displays nicely with all the crystals being on the same face of the host rock.
This piece measure approximately 5.7cm x 4.3cm x3.9cm
