Dioptase is a copper cyclosilicate mineral that gets its vibrant turquoise color from the copper in its make-up. This dioptase formed in a really thin layer on some host rock that is only around 1mm thick. It makes a perfect display piece as it sits up perfectly on its own to display this face.
