Chocolate calcite forms from the precipitation of calcium carbonate from mineral-rich water, often in sedimentary environments like ancient seabeds or limestone caves. The gorgeous chocolate brown is a result of iron impurities within the crystal.
The banded appearance is created by rhythmic deposition, where variations in water flow and mineral concentration lead to layers of different colored calcite.
Associated with the sacral and root chakras, and is thought to help release negative patterns, boost courage, and support positive changes.
