Aquamarine forms by the crystallization of beryllium aluminum silicate in two primary geological settings: granite pegmatites and hydrothermal systems.

In pegmatites, it crystallizes as a residual magma cools slowly, allowing the large crystals to grow over thousands to millions of years. In hydrothermal systems, mineral-rich, hot fluids deposit beryl and iron, which gives aquamarine its blue color, into cavities and fractures in the surrounding rock.

Associated with courage, tranquility, and protection, especially for those at sea. It is also believed to enhance communication, particularly through the throat chakra, and promote calmness, clarity, and emotional balance.

This gorgeous piece was sourced in Padre Paraíso, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
