This large fossil plate features a single Diplomystus specimen in fantastic detail. Diplomystus were a type of perch found in the Green River area during the Eocene epoch, 56 million years ago. The Green River Formation is one of the largest swathes of fossilized material from the Eocene, and contains some of the most well-preserved fish from the time period.
