Moldavite is a variety of tektite that is only found in the Czech Republic. A tektite is a type of glass that forms from meteor impact. All the silicates and trace minerals get burnt up and solidified into this tektite. They then get shot back up into the atmosphere due to the impact and then fall back down to earth,. This is why tektites have the regmaglypts that are found on meteorites and why some people believe they formed in space.
Moldavite is said to be a very intense transformation stone. It is considered to be one of two "activator stones" along with Herkimer Diamonds that force you into situations that make you make changes instead of gently helping you like the other "healing stones".
This piece measures approximately 3.3cm x 1.9cm x 1.5cm and weighs in at exactly 8 grams.
