These fossil teeth belonged to the megalodon, a prehistoric shark that measured 54-80ft long, weighing about 94 tons. This extinct mackerel shark lived approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago in the Miocene and Pliocene epochs.
These large serrated teeth aided the megalodon shark's diet of large marine animals such as whales, other sharks, and large fish.
