This is a little Topaz specimen from Tepetate, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Topaz is an 8 on the hardnes scale, making it a very popular stone for jewelry. In its natural state, topaz is colorless. It gets its various colors from trace mineral inclusions that can be blue, pink, yellow, red, or orange. This one has a lovely champagne like color. Mainly orange with a hint of pink. This specimen has several topaz crystals on it, all of them coming to a natural termination.
This piece measures approximately 2.5cm x 2.1cm 2.0cm and comes on the acrylic base in the picture.
