Natual Citrine Point from Shaba Zaire, Monte Casino, South Africa

This is a piece of natural citrine from Shaba Zaire, Monte Casino, South Africa. Citrine is a variety of quartz that will naturally form from Amethyst given enough heat. A lot of people will try to replicate this process by putting amethyst in an oven to artificially change the color. Natural Citrines are always more clear than their heat-treated counterparts and the color is usually a lot less orange. This piece has really good color zoning. The tip approaches a smoky quartz color that turns to a deep yellow in the middle and then fades out near the non-terminated tip.

This piece measures approximately 4.8cm x 0.8cm
