This specimen showcases some Cassiterite on Quartz from Panesqueira, Portugal. The Cassiterite pieces are the black crystals on the top of the crystal and is an oxidized form of tin. There is also another inclusions on the mineral that is most likely tin based as well. Those pieces have a similar texture to Desert Rose Gypsum and are visible near the bottom. The quartz itself is well formed and has no visible damage. This piece has a certain flair to it. It reminds me of a woman wearing one of those really big hats that they always wear to the side.
This piece measures approximately 7.8 x3.4 x 2.7cm and comes with a display card listing the mineral name and locale.
