This is a specimen of purple fluorite on sphalerite from Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Tennessee, USA. The distinct cubic fluorite crystals sit atop a bed of sphalerite. The Elmwood Mine was opened to extract zinc, and a variety of mineral specimens were found in the process - including calcite, quartz, and specimens like this of sphalerite and fluorite. This is a unique piece from a well-known American mine that would be a great addition to any collection!
