This is a specimen of emerald from Cosquez Mine, Muzo Municipality, Boyaca, Colombia. Emeralds from this locale are some of the best in the world, and with good reason. The unique shade of green in these emeralds, caused by trace amounts of chromium, denotes their high quality. This emerald may not have the most clarity, but it is absolutely packed full of chromium! The color is extremely saturated. It also features a unique stepped termination, with one taller emerald growing out of the middle. This is truly a quality specimen of this rare material!
This specimen is approximately 16mm x 7mm x 6mm. You will also receive a complimentary 'perky' display box and a label card with the mineral name and the locale where it was mined.
