This is a specimen of emerald from Chivor Mine, Boyaca, Colombia. Chivor Mine is the only privately owned emerald mine in Colombia. Emeralds from this locale are some of the best in the world, and with good reason. The unique shade of green in these emeralds, caused by trace amounts of chromium, denotes their high quality. This emerald has a good termination and clarity with aesthetic growth patterns on the faces. There is an interesting gradient of color from the base to the termination in this crystal, growing more saturated as it reaches the tip. This is truly a quality specimen of this rare material!
This specimen is approximately 22mm x 5mm x 5mm. You will also receive a complimentary 'perky' display box and a label card with the mineral name and the locale where it was mined.
