This is a truly awesome Crocoite specimen from the Adelaide Mine in Dundas, Tasmania, Australia. The thing that makes this piece so unique is the size and the fact that it is hollow. Most Crocoites forms in very thin, needle like clusters. Having a crystal of this size is quite rare and because it got to the size that it did, it was also able to form a tube that can be seen from the top of this crystall. The Crocoites from this mine are considered to be the best in the world.
This piece measure approximately 6.2cm 0.6cm x 0.4cm and comes secured to an acrylic stand measuring 2.1cm x 2.1cm x 0.8cm
