This is a thumbnail specimen of blue celestite from Sakoany Deposit, Mahajangal Province, Madagascar. This mineral is also known as 'celestine', depending on what part of the world you are in. It is uncommon to find specimens of celestite that are not crumbly, but this cluster features a nice distinct termination and is very stable. Celestite is a strontium sulfate mineral, is the most common of the strontium-based minerals. This would be a great addition to any collection!
