This is a thumbnail specimen of cavansite from Wagholi Quarry, Pune (formerly Poona) District, Maharashtra, India, which is a very prominent locale for this mineral. It is thought to be a version of pentagonite that was exposed to less heat during the formation process. It features a deep, peacock blue hue with radiating forms of prismatic crystals.
