This is a thumbnail specimen of an anatase crystal from the Cuiaba District, Gouveia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Anatase is a composed of titanium dioxide, which is a polymorph of rutile and brookite. It is usually found in a dark black form, but purer forms are lighter in color. This is a particularly interesting specimen, as it has an almost chatoyant gold on the crystal's exterior.
