This is a thumbnail-sized specimen of Vanadinite from Mibladen mining district, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. It is a cluster of inter-grown vanadinite crystals with distinct faces and a deep red-orange color. Vanadinite is a phosphate-based crystal related to apatite that grows in the oxidation area around lead deposits. It is one of the main industrial ores of the element Vanadium, which is an important metal.
