This is a specimen of emerald with pyrite from Chivor Mine, Boyaca, Colombia. Chivor Mine is the only privately owned emerald mine in Colombia. Emeralds from this locale are some of the best in the world, and with good reason. The unique shade of green in these emeralds, caused by trace amounts of chromium, denotes their high quality. It is especially rare to find clusters like this that feature pyrite, and this is particularly aesthetic piece. The largest pyrite has grown into an elongated cubic form, with other smaller cubes growing on the intergrown cluster of saturated emeralds. This is truly a quality specimen of this rare material!
This specimen is approximately 20mm x 15mm x 15mm. You will also receive a complimentary 'perky' display box and a label card with the mineral name and the locale where it was mined.
