This is a sphere of Ocean Jasper from Madagascar. Ocean Jasper is a particular variety of orbicular jasper that only comes from Madagascar. It was named Ocean Jasper because the original mine was so close to the ocean that it could only be mined from at low tide. This particular piece has a lovely dark olive green color with mustard yellow and deep red also showing up. A lot of the orbs have a nice off-white color that go nicely with the rest of the sphere. It has a couple of druzy pockets as well which give the sphere a little bit more personality.
This sphere measures approximately 6.5 cm in diameter. It comes with the stand that it is on in the photo.
