This is a restored club urchin fossil from the Jurassic period mined in LaRochelle, France. Scientifically named Pseudocidaris mammosa, this urchin has round, bulbous spines that were painstakingly carved from the surrounding matrix rock and reattached to the body of the urchin. You can see great detail on the body and mouth of the urchin. This is a unique specimen to add to any collection!

The urchin is approximately 4.5cm x 4cm x 2.5cm, while the matrix is approximately 9.5cm x 7cm. You will also receive a card featuring the name of the fossil, the locale where it was mined, and the time period that it lived.
