Regular priceSale price
This is a very unique cabinet specimen of clear fluorite with a green chrome phantom from Peña Blanca Mine, Mun. de San Pablo de Borbur, Vasquez-Yacopí Mining District, Boyacá Department, Colombia. What makes this piece so special is the green inclusion that can be seen within the surrounding clear fluorite - it is caused by chrome within the fluorite, which is the same chromophore that causes the green color in emeralds! This type of fluorite is only found in this mine, which is just north of Muzo, where some of the world's finest emeralds are mined.
The surface has a luster that ranges from matte to vitreous in certain areas, and some triangular-shaped growth patterns that can be seen in the close-up image. This specimen of rare fluorite would be a truly special addition to any collection!
This specimen is approximately 7.5cm x 5.5cm x 4.5cm. You will also receive a label card with the mineral name and the locale where it was mined.
