These are some Polished Malachite Specimens from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral with a hardness of 3.5-4. It appears in rounded masses called at botryoidal formation wherever copper outcroppings are found. It is a part of a psuedomorph group along with azurite, chrysocolla, and shattuckite. What this means is azurite will form first, then malachite will replace it and take the form that the azurite was in, then chrysocolla will replace that, and shattuckite, after that. It is not uncommon to find pieces with multiple together as it is still in the process of replacement. Specimen A has some chrysocolla on the back side.
